Use at your own risk

AI prompts on this platform are community-contributed and not verified. Always review outputs before using them in production. PromptOS provides no guarantees about prompt quality or safety.

Use at Your Own Risk

PromptOS is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. By using this service you acknowledge that AI-generated and community-submitted prompts may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate outputs.

Always review a prompt carefully before using it in production systems, client-facing applications, or any context where incorrect output could cause harm. PromptOS accepts no liability for losses, damages, or consequences arising from your use of prompts found on this platform.

Review Prompts Before Use

Prompts on PromptOS are contributed by community members and are not individually reviewed or verified by us. A prompt may contain instructions that are outdated, model-specific, biased, or otherwise unsuitable for your use case.

Before deploying any prompt in an automated workflow or production environment: (1) test it manually with representative inputs, (2) review its output for accuracy and safety, and (3) ensure it complies with the terms of the AI provider you are using (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google).

Data We Collect

Account data: When you sign in with Google OAuth we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We store this to identify your account.

Prompts and collections: Content you create, save, or publish on PromptOS is stored in our database. Public prompts are visible to all users; private prompts are visible only to you.

Usage data: We record copy counts on prompts to surface trending content. We do not sell this data.

API keys: Keys generated for the VS Code extension are stored as hashed values. We record the last-used timestamp to help you audit access.

VS Code Extension

The PromptOS VS Code extension communicates exclusively with the PromptOS API using the API key you provide. No prompt content, search queries, or clipboard data is transmitted to any third party.

Your API key is stored in VS Code's encrypted SecretStorage and never written to disk in plaintext. You can revoke keys at any time from the Settings page.

Third-Party Services

Authentication is handled by Google OAuth. Refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle sign-in data.

Infrastructure is hosted on Vercel and PlanetScale/MariaDB. Both providers have their own data processing agreements.

We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels, or cross-site analytics.

Content Policy

By submitting a prompt you confirm you have the right to share it and that it does not violate any applicable law or third-party intellectual property rights.

We reserve the right to remove any prompt that is harmful, illegal, or violates our community guidelines without prior notice.

Prompts published as public are visible to all visitors including unauthenticated users. Do not include confidential information, personal data, or proprietary business logic in public prompts.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the platform. Continued use of PromptOS after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
